Gilgamesh and Enkidu.
Gilgamesh rules Uruk brutally and cruelly.
Enkidu is created by the gods to balance the
force of Gilgamesh.  Enkidu is wild and lives
among the animals of the steppe but is
introduced to Shamhat, the temple harlot of the
Love Goddess Ishtar, who subdues and seduces
him, and thus humanizes him.
